So as we enter our 80th years at Al Shank Insurance we celebrate the Seward County PRCA Rodeo Boot Scramble and are proud to sponsor it. Held as a part of the rodeo at the Seward County Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena there will be two scrambles for the kids.....one Friday night, August the 20th and one Saturday night the 21st right after the Mutton Busting about 7:30 or so each evening. There will be four age groups ranging from age 4 to age 11. Here is how it works....the kids take off their boots, we mix them in a pile, the kids race to the pile to retrieve their boots, put them on and head back to the finish line. The fastest in each group wins a cash prize. So put on your boots and cowboy hats and come on out to the Seward County PRCA Rodeo.
I have to admit, this is my very first boot scramble, but to me, it is stuff like this that make small town living so inviting. Sure we have our own issues, not unlike larger towns have their own issues, but there is also a uniqueness to living in this part of the world. Southwest Kansas and the surrounding area have their own unique beauty, friendly people, and rhythm. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. As my son told me several years ago, "We get it Dad. You'll always be in southwest Kansas." Yes I will be and if you're not sure you like where you're at....come try our neck of the woods. At least catch the Rodeo and Boot Scramble while you're out here.
And by the way, if your insurance agent seems to always have you scrambling for coverage...call us...Al Shank Insurance...since 1941 insurance as it should be from people you trust.
